Brenda Burgos

Hispanics in Philanthropy

Brenda oversees HIP’s fundraising efforts and strategic partnerships. Her team is responsible for raising funds and supporting our program staff to ensure we meet HIP’s financial goals, forecast future opportunities and create meaningful and transformative relationships with funders, donors and community stakeholders.


Brenda is a recognized leader, advisor and strategist in intersectional movements. Her professional experience includes nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, alumni relations, event planning and strategic alliances—including nearly a decade at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) and a long stint at the Latino Leadership Institute. She is currently the Chair for PPRM’s Action Fund. Brenda is a graduate of the Latino Leadership Institute, Emerge Colorado Campaign, Circle of Latina Leadership and a U.S./Mexico Leaders Initiative Fellow with the Center for American Progress.


Brenda is a wellness enthusiast, at one point co-owning a gym and nutrition company. Some of her favorite activities include enjoying Colorado’s beautiful outdoors, fiction novels, dancing, a good mezcal and dining out. At the end of the day, she measures the quality of her life by the quality of her relationships.
