It is necessary to comprehensively address the issue of forced human mobility in the context of climate change and recognize it as a triggering factor for forced migration, but measures should also be taken to fight climate change and promote climate justice.

We have to think about how governments and international agencies can finance and support these initiatives. It is essential for resources to get directly to the affected populations and communities. Often this is not the case, however. It is also important to work in partnership with other disciplines and organizations, including philanthropy, to jointly develop workspaces and share experiences.

Furthermore, it is necessary to involve the communities that are directly impacted in the search for solutions, and to hand them over the space so that they are the ones leading the process. We need to work on transparency and accountability to ensure that resources are used appropriately.

Finally, it is essential to make the situations of people affected by forced mobility visible and work on defending their human rights and promoting their well-being. We have to see human mobility as a solution and not as a negative effect. We also need to focus on saving lives and protecting human rights instead of simply providing humanitarian assistance.
