It is important to recognize that climate change has disproportionate impacts on the most vulnerable and marginalized communities of the world, including forced migration. Nonetheless, the Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP) does not deal directly with migration as an issue, which can hinder the participation of the Global South in the discussion around this topic.

It is true that one of the biggest obstacles for the mitigation and transformation of climate change is the lack of enough finance, particularly in the Global South. This makes participation in the COP very expensive, which limits the ability of poorer countries to make their voice heard in climate negotiations. Additionally, the language barrier is also a problem when it comes to the participation of the Global South in the COP, as negotiations take place in English and many people from developing countries are not fluent in this language.

In conclusion, it is important to highlight the need to collect more information on the impacts of climate change and forced migration, particularly regarding displacement patterns and identification of more vulnerable areas. It is also important to make sure that funds and projects aimed at addressing climate change and its impacts are available for the marginalized communities that need them the most.
